We've been tapped by the Penn State Center for the Performing Arts to do some pre-event busking/ pop-up concert at the HUB & the Eisenhower patio prior to the The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain's performance later that evening.
We will be doing two busking performances that day!
Performance #1: 4-5 PM @ the base of the monumental stairs in the HUB atrium. We will not be amplified, so we'll need as many players and loud singers as possible!
Performance #2: 6:45-7:20 @ Eisenhower Patio. If the crowd is large on the patio, we'll break into small 2-3 person groups to play different sections of the patio to play to as many people as possible, otherwise we'll play as another big group. If the weather is bad, this performance will be cancelled.
As long as you're able to play during one of these performances, you'll be allowed to go to the UOGB meet & greet after the concert! Specific details are still under discussion and will be posted as soon as we have them :)
We will be using the AUK songbook which is available on our website athttp://alleghenyukes.com/songbooks. Please wear an Allegheny Ukes t-shirt (or if you are joining us from a different club, your club's shirt) for our busking events. If you need an Allegheny Ukes shirt, we still have plenty available ($15 S- XL;$20 - 2XL).
One final note: although we are calling our performances busking, we are prohibited from asking for or accepting tips, donations, or any other monetary item. We are allowed however, to hand out flyers promoting our club!
